Mark Dow Forsyth died November 5, 2009 in a motorcycle accident at the age of 53.

Mark was born on December 3, 1955 in Provo, Utah. He was the fourth of five children.

Mark studied finance at Brigham Young University and worked in many sectors of the investment industry.

Mark grew up in Arlington, Virgina and played clarinet in his family’s jazz band and the Washington D.C. Police Boys Club Band. He served a two-year volunteer mission in Taiwan where he learned the Mandarin language. In 1978 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Hill in Oakland, CA. They moved from California to Doylestown, PA in 2003. Mark had a great love for the outdoors, especially wilderness areas. In addition to his profession in the financial sector, Mark served in many lay positions in church and held a deep conviction of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He most recently served as the President of Susquehanna Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mark is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and four sons, Daniel, Eric, Jonathan and Ian and three grandchildren. He is further survived by his father, Gordon Forsyth, sisters Janene Adema and Heather Kehr, brothers Vaughn and Karl as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nadene Dow Forsyth.

His memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 10 at 11 AM at the Doylestown, PA chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at Chapman and Ferry Roads.
